“A skeleton chronograph in titanium from Hublot is already a compelling proposition. A limited edition connected to a specific sporting moment makes it a collectible proposition. The ICC16 variant combines Hublot’s best-known design language — visible movement, bold case, uncompromising materials — with a specificity of purpose that most watches at any price never achieve. This is a watch with a story. And the story is still being worn.”

— The Quiet Standard Editorial Team

Hublot was founded in Geneva in 1980 with a single radical idea: combine materials that had never been combined before. The original Big Bang fused 18-karat gold with natural rubber — a pairing that the traditional Swiss watch world considered impossible and the market considered irresistible. Forty years later, Hublot remains the house that does not ask permission from convention. The Aerofusion is the clearest expression of that philosophy.

The 525.NX.0129.VR.ICC16 was produced for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 cricket tournament — a limited edition that connects haute horlogerie to one of sport’s most watched global events. The titanium case, at 45mm, is substantial but not heavy — titanium achieves a lightness that steel cannot match at this case size, and Hublot’s case finishing transforms the material into something that reads as genuinely luxurious rather than merely industrial.
